Position: Mechanical Project Manager
Description: Mechanical Project Manager (TAB, Commissioning & Energy Services) The firm of Rivera Engineering, LLC is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for management and execution of TAB/Commissioning and Energy Engineering projects. In this role, you’ll work with a team of other professionals in the delivery of TAB, Commissioning and Energy services as well as supporting the engineering design process on various local and regional projects. This position is based in our Dallas office and local/regional travel will be expected. Responsibilities • Participate in projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule • Perform Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) services in projects to support the proper functioning of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems • Represent the firm as the acting supervisor for management of TAB activities • Possess the minimum qualifications for TAB certification as dictated by Texas NEBB • Perform design reviews, construction observations, develop functional test plans and execute tests for a wide variety of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems • Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members • Support the TAB and commissioning process both in document development and on-site functional performance testing of systems. • Provide secondary Mechanical engineering support to the design process • Anticipated travel 25-30% per month (mainly 1-3 day trips for local/regional project support) Qualifications • Demonstrated TAB services project execution skills including air and Hydronic systems balancing activities • Must have documented certification of successfully passing the national written and practical NEBB examinations • Demonstrated TAB/Commissioning services project execution skills including a comfort level with construction site activities and contractor coordination • Demonstrated energy services project experience including field auditing skills and computer modeling skills • Experience in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (PE desired, and LEED-accredited professional is a plus) • Must currently live or plan to live in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas metroplex area. • Minimum of 5 years of facility mechanical systems design, commissioning and construction for large complex buildings • Minimum of at least two years of supervisory experience in the TAB discipline • Minimum of 1 year of commissioning experience including project execution and delivery during construction phase with working knowledge of construction sites and contractor coordination • Experience in observing, detecting, assessing, evaluating, diagnosing, and communicating commissioning principles, design concepts, TAB activities, construction issues and operational challenges/opportunities to other project team members • Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential • Experience with MS Office Suite and knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus • Experience with energy modeling software such as TRACE 700 is a plus • Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards If you are interested in this opportunity and believe you have the requisite experience/skills or would like to discuss the position in more detail, please contact Jose Rivera at (214) 724-6134 or e-mail at jrivera@riveramep.com.
